Also this month we were recommended in Surrey Life again, this time for our Sunday roasts. Always wise to book early, the choice of mouth-watering beef, lamb, chicken or pork is proving very popular with our guests and it’s lovely to see so many returning guests every week.

Curry night has been a great success so far with tasty lamb, aubergine & cauliflower dishes freshly prepared by Simon & Tracey. The onion bhajis are better than any I’ve had in a curry house & judging by guests’ comments so far it will be a permanent special every 3rd Thursday each month.

And now for a favour…. After just 10 months we have been invited to feature in the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards. Entry is open for nominations so if you like what we do please nominate us for Pub of the Year, Best Local Menu or Chef of the Year – or better still, all 3! Entry closes June 30, and if you include a few words with your nomination that will add weight.

Shooting season draws to an end

The shooting season is coming to an end so the pheasants of Wotton Rocket and Abinger will give a huge sigh of relief.

We SAT support local tradition and look forward to our brace of pheasant and partridge and ensure our special board features the freshest and most local game whenever we can.

We checked TripAdvisor this morning and were thrilled to see we are now rated #12 of restaurants in Dorking (out of over 100).

Considering we started at Miami Dolphins Jerseys #46 when we took over last May that’s a fantastic achievement and testament The to cheap jerseys the hard work and commitment from everyone in the Langton team and our wonderful guests who take time to review their visit.

Goodbye to our beloved JK

IMG_1433January saw us say goodbye to our beloved retriever JK. She sadly died on 4th January but was surrounded by family am and passed away peacefully. Teasel is at a loss without his best friend, but all our four-legged visitors keep him entertained and fellow cocker spaniel Missy has even stopped curling her lip at him and cuddled up by the fire with him!

Welcome to new Apprentice Chef, Harry

We have a new member of the kitchen team – Apprentice chef, Harry (better known as Harold to us). Being so mild we had guests eating outside as well as filling all the table inside, it’s great to see the crisp climate in Friday Street doesn’t put people off their Leith Hill hike in the Surrey Hills.
Wonder if it will be the same when the snow comes?

New Winter menus…

FullSizeRenderHead Chef Simon wholesale nfl jerseys has been busy planning the new Winter menus and as always we are focusing on fresh, local produce, which includes Wotton Estate venison whenever possible.

By the comments from some guests who have had the pleasure of trying this already, it really is an outstanding dish.

“Excellent; Outrageously good; Ciao Incredible”.

We updated can’t complain at those comments! Our game terrine makes the most of the shooting season and offers a tasty starter accompanied by Simon’s spiced pear chutney.
